Dance tests are a great way to set yourself a goal in dancing.

To start with the routines are very simple and they get progressively more intricate as they go up.

Adults will usually be started at social dance level. This gives you an idea what a test is like without needing to do a lot of serious technique work.

The children will be started with either Rosette or Star dance depending on their age. If older children start they will do Junior Social tests first.

Even though exams can be stressful, we still like to keep the learning fun and not too serious!

The progression of tests are as follows

Rosettes (up to 8 yrs old)

Star Dance (up to 10 yrs old)

Social Award

One Dance

Bronze (2 dances)

Silver (3 dances)

Gold (4 dances)

Gold bar 1, 2, & 3

Star 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5

The levels continue past this with other awards.

In order to take part in tests you will need to attend extra lessons where you will concentrate of technique and learn a set routine for the test.

Test sessions are done twice a year in June and December.

If you want any more info on tests then please speak to Megan or Angela.
